Pamela Johnson
Mediator / Arbitrator
Pamela Johnson became a neutral after an illustrious career as a litigator and insurance professional. For thirty years, Pamela practiced in the areas of intellectual property, employment law, defamation and invasion of privacy.
She has participated in over 500 mediations, more than 90 percent of which ended in successful resolution of the conflict.
Many of Pamela’s cases have involved disputes with celebrities and Fortune 500 companies. Pamela has engaged in mediations of trademark, copyright and patent cases. In addition, she has also handled mass tort cases resulting in death and disfigurement, scores of defamation cases, some of which have garnered nationwide attention, sexual harassment and wage and hour cases both on an individual and class action basis and a myriad of voyeurism and invasion of privacy cases. In her capacity as an insurance professional, Pamela has also evaluated hundreds of insurance policies and the case law interpreting them.
Pamela believes that most lawsuits can be resolved through careful listening and neutral evaluation of the facts and the law. Pamela is available for both virtual and in-person mediations and arbitrations.

Brent Benrud
Consultant
Since 1992, Brent Benrud has advised public and private employers, school districts, colleges, and universities in matters related to labor and employment law, education law, and litigation. He currently serves as a Senior Associate General Counsel for the University of Minnesota, where he is the primary attorney assigned to the Department of Athletics.
Brent has provided advice and counsel on scores of employee performance management, discipline, and termination matters; faculty tenure and academic freedom matters; leave of absence, FMLA, and disability accommodations matters; civil rights issues; and the negotiation and drafting of head coach and senior leader contracts.
Brent has specific experience with Title IX athletics compliance matters, including Title IX strategy development and implementation, compliance monitoring, conducting internal compliance audits, preparing for external audits, and responding to charges and complaints.
